's carl. >> amy, thanks. this is a big weekend in the trial of casey anthony. both sides have rested. the jurors should have the case tomorrow. nbc's kerry sanders is live in orlando to tell us what happened in the courtroom on friday, and kerry, it seemed like yet another bombshell. >> a big bombshell. remember here, casey anthony is accused of the first degree, premeditated murder of her daughter, 2-year-old caylee. and prosecutors say that she used duct tape and chloroform. and a big piece of evidence that they presented during this trial was searches on the home computer in the anthony home for chloroform. those searches were made three months before little caylee died. well, during this trial, cindy anthony, casey's mother, got on the stand and she said, you know what? i made those searches. i wasn't at work that day, i remember the day, i was looking for some information about the plants in the backyard, and whether they might be making my dogs sick, and that was me. well, the prosecution, using this time leading up to their rebuttal case, pulled the records from cindy anthony'

baltimore school leaders running. now they're considering a big change that has some parents upset. more on the school watch report. >> reporter: gigi bar net has more. >> reporter: after three years of back-to-back games, baltimore school leaders saw an across the board dip in test scores this year, reading results dropped by a little more than three percentage points, and math scores falling more at nearly 5%. now the question is how to get back on track. the answer may be here. >> we see the model that works in some of our schools, and the question is can we link it to particular grades. >> reporter: one expert wants a longer school week to begin for students in the fifth and 8th grades, he says that is just before students go off to meanwhile and high schools. and it is where the school leaders are seeing the biggest drop off. >> well, many, many of our kids, you need to stretch time in a way that allows us to -- dive deep into what some of the barriers to success might be. >> but will it work? >> the weekend family time, make it simple, extend the school year, add more days. >> pare

>> live, local, late breaking. this is wbal-tv 11 news at 6. >> are big story tonight, may have outside of a baltimore county nightclub and with one man dead and a police officer and hospitalized. shots were fired outside the club baltimore on pulaski highway just before 2:00 a.m. this morning. sheldon dutes is live in rosehill with the latest. >> the officer that was injured is expected to be ok. he got hurt while trying to secure the scene, but he has since been treated and released from hospital. the 911 call came in at club baltimore on pulaski highway. although they do not know the motive, but the shooting stemmed from an argument at closing time. the gunman opened up fire in the parking lot killing one person. the police have identified the victim as george william bryant. officers say when they got here it was pretty chaotic. >> when they responded, they found a large group of people surrounding the victim. as the officers tried to secure the crime scene and move people back some medical personnel could arrive, some people failed to follow those orders. one officer was as
